I did NOT want to do that and set up Outlook again; many thanks for an EASY solution. However, whatever I did do, must have removed the components that were conflicting with my Office 2007 and now I can open all documents on word, excel etc. I've found that I am not the only person with this problem. Not everyone has the know-how or patience to go into the registry to fix things like this. I was going to try uninstalling Office 2003 SP3, but Add/Remove Programs states it can't be removed. Keep up the good work. Dont know what to do know.
After that the converter to convert .xlsx files to .xls quit working. Last month I had to uninstall and reinstall Office 2003 Basic. There's also no Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack seen in Add/Remove Programs even though it indicated install completed for the Compatibility Pack.
