Changing anything in the Registry or associated files can seriously screw up the workings of The 2 other computers I have do not seem to need this is there path to work.

Use Windows Search feature to see if the file is still present.In Win XP, msconfig.exe is located in the following folder:C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\Copies of the file may also be found in these locations:C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\C:\WINDOWS\i386\If I also did multiple virus/worm scans.
