But with security = domain, why is Samba trying to access a password file at all? it means Samba is not set to accept anonymous users, (Which is usually good). The funny thing is it asks to create a user account on this Linux system that matches the user account used to gain access to network on the Win98 system. My smb.conf file has 'security = domain' set and the account information is correctly comming from a Windows 2000 Domain Controller. Join our community today!
