Here are some thing I 'gathered' for you: If you have any other image viewer that is the default viewer (you set it that way in options) then it won't work. to it. You'll also probably get a whole bunch of updates and security patches in the process. forgot that one...

I have the exact same issue, IDENTICAL to the description in the initial post. Obviously I cannot open any windows/files. All are associated with Windows picture and fax viewer, all are roughly the same size and the fact that all open in Photoshop with no artifacts or flags says all are The one that opened before still opens and the one that wouldn't still does not.
