Unable To Read Jpeg Files
Summary: two PCs can open a jpg while another two can not. There is no consistency to when an image will open and when it will not, by which I mean the source of the images. Here is what my neighbour sent to me before:Attached is a ".IMG" file and a numbered file, both of which are "jpg" files. Uploaded to a USB memory stick and downloaded again to my neighbors PC computer.Here is his explanation to me.Some of the unreadable files have titles that start with ".IMG", but others Windows has no trouble working with, or displaying, such files. Cannot Open Jpg Files With Windows Photo Viewer
Some have come from my Nikon camera, some have come from my wife's Canon camera, some have been received in e-mails, some have been screen captures by SnagIt. That most functions in R itself open connections including URLs does not mean that contributed packages do. No image. This practice causes so many problems.
Our cameras don't produce picture files with those kind of file numbers, so they probably are not pictures taken by me. Look in the options/preferences menu's. This time I sent the pictures to myself and checked at home. have a peek at these guys I used file.info(list.files(getwd(),full.names=TRUE)) and found out that the said file is listed as "kim.jpg" instead of "kim.jpeg". The inconsistency is that images that properties show to have the same attributes will differ. Looks like the same information that my neighbour is talking about. I first checked by sharing image files of both types on the LAN and downloading them on my wife's machine.
