i have tried changing the drive letters and that doesnt seem to help. I just had this similar problem WD 3T . If the problem persists close the DM console, then restart DM or restart the computer'.Just that no amount of restarting DM or the pc as instructed,would help. It is obvious to me that a drive needs to be assigned to this external drive but it does not show up in the Disk Management.
I fixed the problem by reinstalling the driver for the drive with the following steps: Open control panel, view devices and printers, find the drive (mine is labeled "My Passport 0730").
