I selected an archive pst which got Outlook to open for me. The set of folders cannot be opened. Please see David's response bellow (comment #26) for more details. Click the Browse button to select your default Outlook.pst file.

If against all expectations your Outlook still won't open, try the troubleshooting steps below. I just copied the old one, gave it a new name and viola, worked fine. I found Outlook.exe/ right clicked properties/ de-selected the ""Run this program in compatibility mode for" and it worked!!!!! When started in normal mode, the navigation pane remains minimized and it is not possible to restore/maximize it. I finally renamed all my ost files to tost and then was able to start outlook in safe mode. I just disabled compatible mode in my Outlook 2010 and it works fine !!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, the install process didn't automatically uninstall the previous version of Office 2007. Take care!
